John Edward Liebert, of New Orleans, passed away on August 27, 2026, in his hometown of New Orleans. He was born on August 12, 1966, in New Orleans and remained closely connected to the city throughout his life, though he also enjoyed spending time in Buffalo New York.

John will be remembered with love for the joy he found in everyday loyalties and simple pleasures, including cheering for the New Orleans Saints and the Buffalo Bills. Those who knew him will remember the spirit and enthusiasm he brought to the teams he followed and the moments shared around those passions.

He is survived by his father, Donald Joseph Liebert (Anna); his daughter, Casey McKim (Ian McKim); his son, Ryan Liebert; his sisters: Donna Clause, Kathy Guillot (Chuck), and Bonnie Wienhusen; as well as his brother, Gary Liebert (Beth). He also leaves behind his grandchildren, Isabella Lynn, Everett Jon, and Adaline Grace, who were an important part of his family circle and his enduring legacy.

John was preceded in death by his mother, Hedwig Nungesser, and by his brother, Ronnie Liebert.

A private celebration of life will be held with family. He will be remembered with affection by those who knew and loved him, and his memory will remain with his family always.
