Joan DuVernay Flettrich

Joan Duvernay Flettrich passed away on April 28, 2023 in Slidell, Louisiana at the age of 89, with her loving family beside her. Mother of Donna Flettrich Bell, Dale L. Flettrich (Heather), Dalton L. Flettrich (the late Delrie), Darren L. Flettrich (Michele), Doreen Flettrich Krueger (Chris) and Darnell Flettrich Kimber. Additionally, she is survived by 10 grandchildren, Jayson, Sabrina, Crystal, Holli, Dalton, Ashley, Darren, Summer, Lindsay and Kamryn; 16 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild, along with many other family members and friends.

Joan was a former Miss New Orleans (1953) at Ponchartrain Beach in New Orleans, La.

She is preceded in death by her father, Joseph A. Duvernay, mother, Rose Cassard Duvernay and a sister, Joel Duvernay Merritt.

She is survived by two sisters, her twin Jean Duvernay Bonnot and Jill Duvernay White.

A Private Family Service will be held at a later date.
