Jay Carter

Jay Alan Carter passed away on Monday, December 25, 2017, at his home outside of Madisonville, LA. He was born on July 8, 1962, in Covington, LA, to Geraldine Perilloux Carter and the late Sidney Lane Carter. Jay was the loving father of Lauren Walker Dew, of Greensboro, N.C.  He was also the brother of Jimmy Carter (Jasmine), Pamela Carter Edwards (Fred), the late Glenn Carter, Joey Carter (Gemma), Denise Carter Gottschalk (Mike), Dennis Carter (Darryl), Dean Carter (Nannette), Hugh Carter, and Todd Carter (Virginia). A lifelong resident of Madisonville, Jay enjoyed spending time in the rivers and swamps as a youth, and was a professional mechanic for many years.  He also enjoyed rebuilding cars and raising chickens. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a small gathering on Saturday, December 30, 2017, at Jay’s sister Denise Gottschalk’s home, 76376 Hwy 1077, Goodbee, LA, between 11:00 AM until 3:00 PM.
