James Ronald Xedos, a dedicated police officer and beloved family man, passed away on July 10, 2025, in Covington, Louisiana, at the age of 79. Born on July 6, 1946, in Brookhaven, Mississippi, James devoted 35 years of his life to serving and protecting his community as a police officer. His commitment to public service was paralleled only by his devotion to his family.
James proudly served in the Navy, a foundation that shaped his values of integrity, honor, and duty. He continued to embody these principles throughout his career and personal life, exemplifying them in all that he did.
He leaves behind a loving family, including his wife, Barbara Jean Xedos, their daughter Stacy Lynn Xedos, and his cherished grandchildren, Victoria Xedos, Skylar Xedos, and great-grandchildren Maxx Xedos and Kayden Coakley. James is also survived by his brothers, Tommy Xedos and Ricky Xedos, and his sisters, Sharon Noel and Darlene Xedos
He was predeceased by his father, Artie Xedos, his mother, Prudence May Xedos, and his son-in-law, Quinn Anthony Schneider.
James's warmth, humor, and unwavering support will be deeply missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
All are invited to attend a viewing being held on July 25, 2025, from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM, followed by a funeral service at 2:00 PM in the Chapel of Bagnell & Son Funeral Home, located at 75212 Highway 437 (Lee Rd.), Covington, LA 70435. Family and friends are invited to celebrate James's life, honoring a legacy of service, love, and dedication.
