James Schmolke

James Ray Schmolke, beloved Husband, Father, and Grandfather, passed away peacefully at his home on Sunday, May 13th, 2018, at the age of 65. Mr. Schmolke was a native of Pearl River and a resident of Covington, LA.

Mr. Schmolke was a Marine Corps veteran and served his country in Vietnam. He continued to serve his community as a reserve Sheriff’s Deputy with the St. Tammany Parish Sheriff’s Office for over 25 years. Mr. Schmolke retired from Cleco after 35 years of service as a lineman. He loved his family and took great pride in all of his children and grandchildren.

He is survived by his loving wife that he adored, Stephanie Sharp Schmolke; sons Joseph E. Scheckler and wife Stephanie and Daniel W. Schmolke and wife Crystal; stepchildren whom he loved as his own, Jessica, Brett, and Emily Jarrell; 7 grandchildren; and his mother in law and father in law Natalie and Dudy Sharp. He is preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Aline Schmolke; and his brothers Anthony and Joseph Schmolke.

A private memorial service will be held at a later date.
