In Loving Memory of Lionel Joseph "Jack" Vicknair Jr.

Lionel Joseph "Jack" Vicknair Jr., age 51, passed away on July 13, 2026. He was born on June 24, 1975, to Donna Smith Rivers and the late Lionel Joseph Vicknair Sr.

Jack lived life with an adventurous spirit and an easygoing, "go-with-the-flow" attitude. He didn't take life too seriously, preferring to keep things simple. He was a man of few words at times, reserved in his own way, but deeply loving to those who knew him best.

A true "jack of all trades," Jack possessed a natural gift for working with his hands. Whether working with tires, handling mechanical repairs, taking on painting projects, or building something from scratch, he was a skilled craftsman who could fix just about anything. He loved nothing more than cranking up his favorite rock music and enjoying the ride wherever the day took him.

Known for his open nature, Jack made friends wherever he went and never hesitated to jump in when someone needed a hand. Helping people was simply second nature to him. He was a resilient fighter through life's ups and downs, facing every obstacle with grit and determination.

Nothing meant more to Jack than his family. He deeply loved his children and grandchildren, finding his greatest happiness in simply being around the people he loved. A self-proclaimed "mama's boy," Jack shared a special bond with his mother, Donna. He cherished those quiet, everyday moments and sharing laughs with those he loved.

In keeping with his lifelong spirit of helping others, Jack’s final legacy was one of profound generosity. Through organ and tissue donation with LOPA (Louisiana Organ Procurement Agency), Jack gifted bone, heart valves, and sight. Bringing renewed health, mobility, and hope to individuals and their families.

Jack was preceded in death by his father, Lionel Joseph Vicknair Sr. He is survived by his devoted mother, Donna Smith Rivers; his 4 children, Christopher, Ryan, Zoie, and Payten; his 3 grandchildren; his brothers, Chad, Nathan and sister, Laina; as well as a large, loving network of aunts, uncles, nieces, cousins, and lifelong friends.
