Huey P. Cox Jr.

Huey P. Jr., born on December 16, 1961, in New Orleans, Louisiana, passed away peacefully on March 6, 2026, in Slidell, Louisiana. He was a beloved husband, father, sibling, and friend, and he will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Huey had a passion for fishing, a knack for working on cars, and found joy in cooking at Waffle House. His many hobbies were a testament to his vibrant personality and love for life.

He leaves behind his devoted spouse, Shannon Larue Cox, and their children: Huey P. Cox III, Amanda Cox Boni (Blain) and Pierre Lewis Cox (Nena). Huey is also survived by his cherished siblings: Deborah Ferguson (James), Donna Gilmore (Edward), Darlene Wise (Jim), Dawn Moore (Todd), Kevin Cox (Jessica), and George Cox (Casey), Chris Cox (Melanie) along with his sister-in-law, Tara Cox. He was a proud grandfather to Delilah Cox and a loving great-grandfather to Duke and Dolly.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Huey P. Cox Sr. and Jeannette Cox Neff, and his brother, Andrew Cox. Although his physical presence is no longer with us, the memories of Huey will forever remain in the hearts of his family and friends.
