Harvey Ray Hyatt, a cherished member of the Covington, Louisiana, community, was born on September 4, 1954, and passed away on July 13, 2025. His unwavering spirit and zest for life left an indelible mark on all who knew him.
Harvey was born and raised in Covington, where he developed a profound love for the outdoors. He enjoyed hunting and camping, pursuits that allowed him to immerse himself in nature while forging connections with fellow enthusiasts. Professonaly, Harvey drove trucks which he loved. It was more than a job to him since he thoroughly enjoyed it. Known for his friendly demeanor and conversational skills, Harvey took great pleasure in talking to people, making friends wherever he went, and leaving a lasting impression on everyone he encountered.
He is survived by his beloved daughter, Tina Hyatt; son, Harvey Wayne Hyatt; and brother, Danny (Myrt G.) Hyatt. His legacy continues through his grandchildren: Kristopher and (Destinee) Hebert, Corie (Erica) Hyatt, Nikolis (Holly) Hyatt, Tristin Hyatt, Trinity Hyatt, Gracie Malic; along with his great-grandchildren: Blakely, Olivia, Ivy, Beaux Hebert, Kade Hyatt, Ruby Hyatt, and Laylin Hyatt.
Harvey was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Dwana Hyatt; his father, Jesse Hyatt; and his mother, Alveretta F. Hyatt.
Friends and family are invited to pay their respects during a viewing at Bagnell & Son Funeral Home, located at 75212 Highway 437 (Lee Road), Covington, LA 70435, on Tuesday, July 22, 2025, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. A funeral service will follow the viewing at the same location, starting at 11:00 AM. Harvey will then be laid to rest in a burial service at Allison Cemetery following the service.
Harvey Ray Hyatt will be remembered not only for his love of the great outdoors and his warm conversations but also for the cherished moments he created with his family and friends. His presence will be deeply missed, but his spirit will forever be alive in the hearts of those who loved him.
