His long record of leadership and service reflects a man who gave generously of himself and made a lasting difference in the lives of many.

Harold Robert Dutsch, Jr, of Covington, Louisiana, passed away on September 1, 2026, in Covington. He was born on March 13, 1959, in Covington, and lived a life marked by steadfast service, hard work, and devotion to his family and community.

Harold built a distinguished career through decades of commitment and leadership. He served as Manager of Lee Road Water Corporation for 36 years and was the owner of Dutsch Services, Inc. for 28 years. He also gave his time and experience in service to others as a member of the Louisiana Rural Water Association Board of Directors for 6 years. His dedication to public service extended even further through an extraordinary 50 years as a volunteer with St. Tammany Parish Fire District #6-Lee Road, including 27 years as Chief and 9 years as Superintendent. He was a member of the NRA, Louisiana Firemen’s Association, Gideons, St. Tammany Parish 4H and FFA Youth Fund, Dirty Dozen Hunting Club and New Zion Baptist Church Safety Team. Harold also enjoyed many hobbies: hunting, fishing, cattle farming, firearm restoration and motorcycle riding with his friends. His long record of leadership and service reflects a man who gave generously of himself and made a lasting difference in the lives of many.

Above all, Harold will be remembered as a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and uncle. He is survived by his wife of 20 years, Cynthia “Cindy” Dutsch. He also leaves behind his daughter, Fallon Dutsch O’Ragan (Robert); his stepson, Troy Ricks, III (Rachel); and his stepdaughter, Crystal Ricks (Louis Scott). He was a proud grandfather to Rylee O’Ragan, Rawson O’Ragan, and step grandchildren, Breanna Deese (Ryan), Nicholas Wise, Alexander Scott, Bentley Ricks and Wyatt Ricks. He also leaves behind three step great-grandchildren, Paisleigh, Kennedy and Wesley Deese.

He is also survived by his brothers, Darrell Dutsch (Kristy), Russell Dutsch (Andreina), his sister Melinda Dutsch Mizell (Jeffery), and his nephews, Joseph Mizell (Candice) and Harold Mizell.

Harold was preceded in death by his father, Harold R. Dutsch, Sr. and his mother, Anna Cammatte Dutsch.

Family and friends are invited to gather for visitation on Saturday, September 5, 2026, from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at New Zion Baptist Church, 17387 New Zion Church Road, Covington, Louisiana 70435. A funeral service will begin at the church at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow at Pilgrim Rest Cemetery, 20166 LA 1081, Covington, Louisiana 70435.

The family has requested that in lieu of flowers, a memorial donation to the New Zion Lunch Ministry will be greatly appreciated.

Harold leaves behind a legacy of service, leadership, and love. He will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all who knew him.
