Gracie Merlyn McMorris Sawyer

Gracie Merlyn McMorris Sawyer (77) of Covington, La. died Tuesday September 19, 2023 at St. Tammany Parish Hospital. She was born July 19, 1946 in Madisonville, La. Daughter of the late Thomas and Marguerite Koppenal McMorris.

She is survived by four daughters, Laura Fernandez, Rhonda Hamilton, Tommiandra Mclain, and April Sawyer; five  Grandchildren, Tiffany, Kristen, Emily, Kyle, and Cameron; three Great Grandchildren, Jaxon, Nox, and Eleanor; one brother James McMorris.

She is preceded in death by three sisters, Evelyn Strain, Geraldine McMorris, and Anne Marie Gordon;  three brothers, Harry, Billy, and Adam McMorris.

She was beautiful, strong, loving, and free spirited. She loved gardening, her family, people, and her dog Kiki. She was loved by many especially her children and will be deeply missed by us all.

No service will be held at this time. In lieu of flowers, if you wish to do so charitable donations can be made to any Cancer Society or local animal shelter.
