Glen Ray Fitzmorris

Glen Ray Fitzmorris of Covington, Louisiana passed away on Wednesday May 17, 2023 at the age of 79. Son of the late Lawrence “Loren” Fitzmorris and Larcie Lucille Bush, Glen joined his deceased brothers Adrian Enos Fitzmorris, Lawrence Ceedie Fitzmorris (Theora), James Willard Fitzmorris (Millie), and his sisters Olive Lillian Fitzmorris McGillivary and Lollie Lucille Fitzmorris Harriss (Micajah). He is survived by his brother Jeron Rubin Fitzmorris (Nancy). He is also survived by his three daughters Heather Sue Roderick (John), Summer Eve Fitzmorris Miller (Kevin), and Kassity Raynee’ Fitzmorris Miller (Casey). He is also survived and by his grandchildren Bailey Ona Clelland Vathy, Morgan Faith Frilot, Emory Mitchell Frilot, Miles Benjamin Frilot, Grace Elizabeth Miller, Molly Kassity Miller, and Ashley Summer Miller, and great grandson Jackson Thomas Vathy. Glen is also survived ny numerous nieces and nephews. Glen graduated from Covington High School in 1961, and attended LSU. He was later drafted into the U.S. Army and served during the Vietnam War. Glen was injured in battle and was awarded with the Purple Heart. Glen returned to Covington to raise a family. He worked for many years until full retirement from the U.S. Postal Service. He greatly enjoyed working on his farm along with his favorite long horn cows Bowie and Crockett, attending activities with the Veterans of Foreign Wars and the American Legion, as well going to both large and small Fitzmorris family reunions. Glen was a member of First Baptist Church of Covington. The family would like to extend gratitude to Candace, William, Jamie, Nikki, and Rodney from Heritage Manor of Mandeville, and to Barbara, Danielle, and Chris, and Ronnie from St. Catherine’s Hospice. Visitation will be at Bagnell and Son Funeral Home on Friday, May 26 from 4-7 pm, and again on Saturday, May 27 from 10 am - Noon with a Service following. Glen will be laid to rest at Pilgrim's Rest Cemetery. “I am the resurrection and the life. Those who believe in me, even though they die like everyone else, will live again. They are given eternal life for believing in me and will never perish.” John 11: 25-26. Glen has his salvation secured in Jesus Christ, his Savior.
