Gerard "Bubba" Salvador Michael Gambino, born on September 11, 1982, in New Orleans, Louisiana, left this world on December 9, 2025, in Slidell, Louisiana, touching the hearts of many during his time with us. Bubba was a cherished father, devoted fiancé, loving son, and a caring brother, whose life was illuminated by his spirit and warmth.
Bubba carved out a meaningful career with the Crescent City River Boat Association, where he rose to the position of dispatcher manager. His dedication and commitment to the organization were unwavering, and he took genuine pride in his advancements within the company. Colleagues and friends admired him not just for his professionalism but for the sense of humor and storytelling ability that always put smiles on the faces of those around him.
Family was at the very core of who Bubba was. He is survived by his fiancé Stacey Kreher, who brought joy and companionship into his life. As a father, he adored his children, Timothy J. Asher II and Madison "Mermaid" G. Gambino, and delighted in spending time with them. Bubba cherished family gatherings and was always there for his mother, Kathryn K. Gambino, and his loving sisters, Kristine R. Gambino and Valerie R. Gambino (Don). His legacy will certainly live on through the many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins who knew him.
Bubba was an avid supporter of the New Orleans Saints and had a great passion for football. He relished in the simple pleasures of life—traveling, enjoying movies, embarking on walking adventures, and reading a good book. His zest for life was infectious, and the memories he created with family and friends will be held dear forever.
Bubba is preceded in death by his father, Gerard P. Gambino, as well as his grandparents whom he loved immensely.
The love that Bubba cultivated throughout his life will be deeply missed, leaving a void that cannot be filled. He truly was a remarkable soul—a beacon of light to all who had the privilege of knowing and loving him. The world is a little dimmer without his laughter and compassion, but we are comforted to know that his spirit lives on in the hearts of those he cherished. In honor of Bubba's memory family and friends are invited to attend a visitation on Friday, December 19, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. followed by a Memorial Service at 1:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Bagnell & Son Funeral Home 75212 Hwy 437 Covington, Louisiana 70435.
