Gail Ann Schmidt

Gail Schmidt, 77 years of age, passed away peacefully on October 11, 2026 at her home in Slidell, Louisiana.

Born on March 29, 1949 in New Orleans, Louisiana, Gail was the daughter of Adam Henry Graff Jr. and Rosalie Loup Graff who preceded her in death as well as her younger brother David Michael Graff (Ann). She grew up in Metairie and graduated from Riverdale High School's class of 1966. Gail continued her education, earning her LPN.

Throughout her life, Gail was a source of unwavering love, strength and guidance for her family and friends. She married George Schmidt on February 6, 1971 building a life filled with love and cherished memories. Together they raised two daughters, Amanda Schmidt (Kaylyn) and Allison McNeill (Gabriel), who will be forever grateful for her infinite love and support.

Gail had a passion for crafting and decorating, which she enjoyed with great enthusiasm. She was known for her faith, her generous heart and will be remembered by those whose lives she touched.

In addition to her children, Gail is survived by her eldest brother Adam Henry Graff III(Jaqueline) and five grandchildren: Hunter, Brinley, Ireland, Harper and Wesley. She will be missed by many other relatives and friends who were touched by her warmth and kindness.

A memorial service to honor and celebrate Gail's life will be held at Bagnell and Son Funeral Home located at 75212 Lee Rd. in Covington, LA 70435 on October 24, 2026. Visitation begins at 10:00am with service to begin at 12:00pm. Friends and family are invited to pay their respects and share their memories.
