Floyd B. Hicks Jr., 81, of Covington, Louisiana passed away after a life well lived, and deeply loved. Born in New Orleans to Floyd B. Hicks Sr. and Elvire Ducote Hicks, Floyd was a devoted family man who was incredibly proud of those he loved.

He leaves behind a loving wife, Robin Hicks; his children, Shelly Edney (Jennings), Laurie Robert (Everett), and Adam Hicks; his cherished grandchildren, Jordan Edney (Lauren), Mallory Edney, Abby Magee, and Ethan Hicks Ramos; and his brother, and best friend, Robert Hicks (Shirley)

Whether hunting, fishing, skiing, traveling, riding motorcycles, practicing karate, cowboy action shooting, playing tennis, or simply spending time with the people he loved, he was all in.

Floyd was also deeply patriotic and immensely proud of his service to his country in the United States Army, including his time serving in Korea. His love of country remained an important part of who he was throughout his life.

A lifelong and enthusiastic LSU fan, Floyd later became an FSU fan as well, proudly supporting his grandchildren.

His faith sustained him until the very end.

HIs family feels as though a bright light has departed this world. His love, adventurous spirit, patriotism, and larger-than-life presence will remain with them always.

He will be loved and missed - in his own words: "Big Time!" ❤

A funeral service honoring the life of Floyd Hicks Jr. will be held on the 22nd of August at St. Timothy on the Northshore Church, located at 335 Asbury Drive in Mandeville. Visitation begins at 09:30 AM with service to start at 11:00 AM.
