Florence Bernice Andrews
Sisk
August 5, 1938 – May 31, 2026
With love and beautiful memories, we joyfully celebrate the extraordinary life of Florence Bernice Andrews Sisk — whose strength and grace touched so many. Bernice passed peacefully on May 31, 2026, at the age of 87.
Born on August 5, 1938, Florence entered the world with a quiet determination and loving spirit that would shine through every chapter of her remarkable journey.
Florence was the youngest of nine children and the only daughter in her family. Growing up in a lively household full of brothers, she developed a special resilience, kindness, and grace that set her apart from an early age.
Florence Bernice Sisk began her professional journey as a licensed Real Estate Broker, helping families find homes and new beginnings with professionalism, integrity, and genuine warmth. After returning from her Caribbean adventures, she graduated Summa Cum Laude with a Bachelor’s in Nursing from the University of Northern Colorado, an outstanding achievement that reflected her sharp mind, strong work ethic, and heartfelt commitment to caring for others. She devoted her career to oncology nursing as a dedicated Registered Nurse, bringing comfort, hope, and compassionate care to patients and families facing cancer. She spent many rewarding years at East Jefferson General Hospital and in her community, where her empathy and steady presence made a profound difference during some of life’s most challenging moments. Her work in both fields was far more than a profession — it was a true calling, marked by grace and humanity. Colleagues and patients alike treasured her reliability, kindness, and the genuine healing and support she offered every day.
Bernice had a gift for turning ordinary moments into treasures and embracing life with an adventurous heart. She had a deep passion for traveling and explored the world extensively, visiting unforgettable destinations across Central and South America, China, Russia, Ireland, Scotland, Egypt, Greece, Italy, England, and France. These journeys filled her with wonder and joy, creating cherished stories she loved to share. One of her most beloved adventures was sailing the Caribbean with John Holt Andrews aboard their boat, the Merry Chase — memories of freedom, blue waters, and shared laughter that brought endless delight. She also delighted in family gatherings, shared meals, heartfelt conversations, and the simple joys of home and community.
Above all, Florence cherished her family. She is survived by her children, grandchildren, and extended family, all of whom carry forward her adventurous spirit: Jerry L Andrews (Jenell), Kim Cook (James), Laura Andrews-Clark (Chris). Her grandchildren: Clinton Johnson (Tiffany), Jeremy Andrews, Matthew Clark (Stacey), Jana Andrews Grey (Matthew), Ashley Clark, and Kylie Larousse (Jeremy). Her great-grandchildren: Fallon Lamkin, McKenzie Crawford, Makenna Johnson, Jaxton Crawford, Harper Larousse, Abigail Grey, Jordan Johnson, Luke Larousse, Elijah Grey, Dominic Grey, Jensen Grey, and Holly Clark.
A private celebration of Bernice’s beautiful life will be held with her family in August 2026. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in her honor to the St. Tammany Humane Society, a cause close to her compassionate heart.
Rest in peace, Mom, Granny, Gigi — you were deeply loved, and your beautiful life will be celebrated forever in our hearts.
