Fanny "Cricket" Delia Gentry Pichon, born on October 3, 1949, passed away peacefully on June 11, 2025. She was a cherished mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend to many. Fanny was known for her warm spirit and deep involvement in her community, notably as a member of the Order of the Eastern Star.
Fanny is survived by her beloved daughter, Susan Smith, and her two sons, Dwayne Pichon (Kelly) and Derrick Pichon (Ashley). She was a proud grandmother to her eight grandchildren and took great delight in the joy of her five great-grandchildren. Fanny also leaves behind her loving sisters, Teresa Stockstill and Henrietta Faciane, who will always remember her kindness and devotion.
Fanny was predeceased by her husband, Gordon Dale Pichon Sr.; her son, Gordon Dale Pichon Jr.; her daughter-in-law, Jennifer Pichon; as well as her parents, Henry Gentry and Mary Cotton Gentry.
She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She loved her family dearly and enjoyed every moment spending time with them. She also gave her devotion and time for many years to her church, assisting in all areas of their need as well as playing the piano during service times. Those who knew her would attest to the fact that she was a great cook, as she frequently fed many family members and friends when they came to visit. She was also a great historian for our family, her friends, and the town, and she delighted in keeping old traditions and ways of life alive. To those who had the pleasure of speaking with her when buying car and home insurance, they will remember her as the best insurance representative they ever had.
Fanny "Cricket" Delia Gentry Pichon will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. Her legacy will live on in the memories of family and friends she touched during her time with us.
