Evelyn F. Simmonds

Evelyn Frances Simmonds, affectionately known as “Fran”, age 70, peacefully passed away on Saturday, June 27, 2026. She was the cherished daughter of the late Jack and Rubye Long Simmonds, and the late Lilac Simmonds. Evelyn was also reunited in rest with her late sisters, Judy Simmonds, Jackie Carbo (Joe), and Sue Nunez (Rickie).

Her memory will be carried on by her beloved nieces and nephews: Joseph Carbo (Crystal), Michael Borrel, Christy Borrel (Otis), Rickie Nunez and Katie Mayer-Robinson (Kirk). She is also survived by her great-nieces and great-nephews, Victoria Michalik (Christopher), Jacob Michalik (Clara), Payton and Morgan Guzman, and Nicholas and Nathaniel Brown; her great-great-nephews, Adrian and Ashton Kirby. She is also survived by her brother-in-law Rickie Nunez.

She also leaves behind her dear, lifelong friend Monica English (Dale), along with a host of extended family and friends who loved her dearly.

She was employed by the NOPD for 8 years and retired from EMR Southern Recycling after 27 years of service.

Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend her service from 11am-1pm on Saturday, August 1, 2026 at Waldheim Methodist Church, 77067 Hwy 21, Covington, LA 70435.
