Elsie M. Stepp, a cherished soul, entered the world on February 3, 1936, in the charming town of Hemphill, Texas. She gracefully walked through life until her peaceful passing on June 25, 2025, in Lacombe, Louisiana.

Elsie was a spirited woman whose enthusiasm for life was unmistakable. She showcased her vibrant personality early on as a part of her high school basketball team and took on the proud role of drum major, a testament to her leadership and dedication. Her zest for living was mirrored in her hobbies and interests, with a profound love for golf and gardening. Elsie’s adventurous spirit drew her to travel and camping, filling her life with cherished memories under the open sky. She had a fine taste for life, particularly when it came to savoring exquisite wines, while her heart danced to the rhythms of Big Band and jazz music, which she adored.

She is remembered lovingly by her family, including her devoted life partner, Earl Vidal, and her beloved daughter, Sherrel Phillips. Elsie's warmth and loving spirit will be cherished by her grandchildren, James Lloyd and Kelli Aleman, and her great-grandchildren, Allison, Alex, Kambry, and Chandler, who all held a special place in her heart.

Elsie was predeceased by her cherished parents, William Raymond Martin and Emma Ruth Patterson, as well as her beloved brothers, Raymond, William, and Edward Martin. As well as her grandchild, Cody Alack. Each of them contributed to the tapestry of her life, and their memories remain a source of comfort and inspiration for those she leaves behind.

A celebration of Elsie’s life will be held on July 26, 2025, with an inurnment at Bagnell & Son Funeral Home in Covington, Louisiana. Family and friends are invited to join at 11:00 AM, as we come together to honor a remarkable woman whose legacy of love and joy will persist in our hearts forever.
