Elliott Stewart Weixel

December 5, 1939 — May 24, 2025

Elliott Stewart Weixel, born on December 5, 1939, in New Orleans, passed away on May 24, 2025, at the age of 85.

Elliott was a devoted husband, loving stepfather, and a man of quiet strength and wisdom. Those who knew him will remember his steady presence, his kindness to all, and his faith in Jesus. He was deeply caring, generous with his time and knowledge, and often gave thoughtful advice or a helping hand.

He graduated from Chalmette High School in 1960 and went on to serve in the Army National Guard. Later he joined the family business, Weixel Hydraulics. Elliott was known for his incredible work ethic and commitment to excellence.

Outside of work, he found great joy in restoration, particularly antique cars and furniture. He had a remarkable talent for bringing things back to life, always paying close attention to every detail. His craftsmanship and patience were evident in every project he took on.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Donna B. Weixel, of 37 years; his stepchildren, Deanne Weaver (Barry), Destrie Gonzales (Herman), and Robin Pampo; and his cherished grandchildren: Emily, Rhiannon, Evan, Paige, Haley, Madeline, Sarah, Phoebe, Annie, Joanie, Tai, Molly, Ethan, and Soledad; as well as 5 great-grandchildren. To his grandchildren, he was affectionately known as “Granddad”—a role he embraced with warmth, and pride.

He was preceded in death by his father, Raiv Weixel Sr.; his mother, Harriette Elliott Weixel; his brother, Raiv Weixel Jr.; and his stepson, Roland Michael Dardar.

A memorial service will be held at Redemption Church, 62060 LA-434, Lacombe, LA 70445, at 10:00 AM on June 6, 2025.

Elliott’s memory will live on in the hearts of those who loved him and the many lives he touched with kindness. He will be greatly missed.
