Obituary

“

He embraced life to the fullest, lived with a grateful heart, and always gave all the glory to God.

With profound grief and sorrow that words cannot fully express, we said goodbye to Edwin Albert Guynes, who left us peacefully surrounded by his wife and 2 daughters on October 31st at the age of 93.

For 59 years he was the cherished husband, steady partner and best friend of his loving wife Jeanie Guynes.

He is survived by his children, Bobby Warner (Ann), Kellie Badeaux (Troy), and Nikki Clark (Chris), his grandchildren, Amanda Leblanc, Travis Warner, Austin Forsythe, and Lauren Clark. He is also survived by his siblings, Dennis Guynes (Patsy) and Sarah Kountouris (Jerry) as well as many beloved nieces and nephews.

He was an avid gardener who took great pride in his harvest, growing peaches that were as sweet as could be and corn that was second to none. He found great joy in the simple pleasures of life, especially hunting, fishing, and spending time with his cherished friends. He was a devoted and active member of Live Oak Baptist Church, where his faith and church family held a special place in his heart. He especially looked forward to seeing the new fellowship hall completed, knowing it would be a place for many future celebrations and cherished moments with his church family.  He loved his country and served in the Navy on the USS Vulcan.  He will be remembered for his kindness, generosity, and loving spirit, always willing to give of himself to others. Above all, his family was his greatest blessing and the source of his deepest joy. He embraced life to the fullest, lived with a grateful heart, and always gave all the glory to God. He leaves behind a legacy of love, faith, and cherished memories. Though he will be deeply missed by the many lives he touched, we find comfort in knowing that this is not goodbye, but simply until we meet again in Heaven.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Eva Mae Guynes and his brother LT. Col. Dean Guynes.

A service to honor and celebrate Ed's life will be held on Saturday November 7th from 10-12 at Bagnell & Son Funeral home 75212 Hwy 437  (Formerly Lee Rd) Covington.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Ed's name to Live Oak Church Building Fund, in the care of Jim Morris, located at 21292 Hwy 1062, Loranger, Louisiana 70446
