Duane Dunaway

Duane Keith Dunaway, 62, of Hattiesburg, Mississippi, passed away on May 2nd, 2022. Duane was born in Prentiss, Mississippi on September 26, 1959 to Donald and Anita Dunaway. As his family continued to grow, he showcased his many skills as a carpenter, mechanic and creative enthusiast. He enjoyed a good laugh, good food, spending time outdoors, camping, fishing, hunting and gardening. Duane is survived by many friends and family members, including his daughters- Allison Long (Jason), Katy Reeves, Jessica Armstrong (Josh), his grandchildren- Reece Reeves, Andrew Danna, Ridgley Reeves, Paige Long, Rhett Reeves, Audrey Long and Elizabeth Armstrong, his sisters- Terri Cashen (David) and Stacy Smither (Dale), many nieces and nephews, his former wife- Kay Stephens, beloved girlfriend- Susan Stringer, dear friend- Francis Herrin and 87 grand-dogs.

He is preceded in death by his father, Donald Davis Dunaway, his mother, Anita Dunaway McDaniel and his nephew, Charles Dunaway Smither.

Duane was a family man, who will be remembered for his strong faith, dedication and love of laughter.

Duane will be buried at Whitesand Baptist Church in Prentiss, Mississippi. There will be a private service for immediate family members.
