Douglas "Doug" Sanders

Douglas “Doug” Melvin Sanders, loving husband, father and grandfather passed away unexpectedly at the age of 56. Doug was born on September 1, 1962 in Fairbanks, AK. He retired a U.S. Navy Chief Petty Officer after serving 23 years, including active deployments during Desert Shield and Desert Storm. Doug will be tremendously missed by all those who knew and loved him. He was preceded in death by his mother, Barbara Clinkenbeard, Step-father Dale Ramsey, and brother Michael Sanders. Survived by his wife, Darra Sanders of 33 years, daughter Ashley Miller (Scott) and son Tyler Sanders (Brittany) and grandchildren Owen and Evan Miller and Logan and Landry Sanders, brothers Wayne Sanders and BJ Sanders, sisters Cathy Randolph (John) and Kelly Stephens (Brandon) and a host of loving cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.Family and friends are invited to attend a Memorial Service  on Friday, October 26th at 10 a.m. at Northshore Church, 310 Kensington Blvd., Slidell, LA with reception to follow.
