Dora Posey

On October 20th, 2021, two days after her 92nd birthday, Dora Volz Posey passed away at Ochsner Extended Care Hospital due to acute hypoxemic respiratory failure from Covid-19.

She is preceded in death by her parents, John Ignatius Volz and Mary Ortolano Volz; her husband, Donald Phillip Posey; her brother, John Phillip Volz; and her first-born daughter, Lynn Elizabeth Posey Olson, MD PhD.

She is survived by her daughter, Lisa Ann Posey Thurman; her granddaughter, Ashley Scurlock Chouvarine; grandsons, Grey J. Thurman, III, and Joseph Olson; and two great-granddaughters, Lena Jean Thurman, and Emmy Grey Thurman.

She graduated from Holy Angels Academy in New Orleans.

She worked past her 89th birthday as a typist and a Medical Transcriptionist.

As per her wishes, she was cremated and her life celebrated privately  by her immediate family.
