Donald Robert Casteel

Donald Robert Casteel was born in Atlanta, Georgia on July 5, 1949 and passed away on April 12, 2024 at the age of 74.

Don is survived by his children Sean Casteel (Ashley), Larissa Casteel, Nicky Casteel (Hillary) and Chance Casteel (Celeste). He was a great Pappy to his 7 grandchildren Aidan, Ava, Brody, Juliet, Addie, Juniper, and Rory. He also leaves behind his sister Diane Casteel and nephews Ben and Chris Curtis. 

He is preceded in death by his parents Robert and Eleanor Casteel.

Don grew up in Algiers, LA and has been a resident of Bush for the past 40 years. He retired from BellSouth as a lineman after proudly working there for over 30 years.

He loved the Saints and LSU football as well as any outdoor activity such as fishing, hunting, hiking and spending time in the woods, but he loved nothing more than spending time with his family.

He never met a stranger and has touched numerous lives in his time on Earth. He also loved coaching and was known as Coach Pappy and won two championships.

We will have a Celebration of Life at his home 82050 Bealer Road, Bush, LA on May 4, 2024 beginning at 2:00 p.m. We ask that everyone wear their favorite football jersey.
