Dianne Juanita Sturm Holland

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Dianne Juanita Sturm Holland, age 82, of Mandeville, Louisiana. Dianne passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family on September 8, 2025.

Dianne was born in New Orleans on June 29, 1943, to Robert Henry Sturm and Hilda Vicknair Sturm of Madisonville, Louisiana and was the youngest of nine girls. She graduated from Covington High School in 1961. She has been a long time resident of Mandeville for the last 45 years. She spent several years working at the Marble Quarry in Mandeville where she is fondly remembered by her coworkers. For the last 40 years, she and her husband Fred owned and operated the historically famous Ruby’s Roadhouse bar/live music venue. Countless memories and lifelong friendships were made there.

Mrs. Dianne or Mrs. “D”, as she was affectionately known, has been described by many as kind, caring, giving, selfless, an angel, a treasure, and a gem. She genuinely cared for people. During the holidays, she opened her home and made a place at her table for everyone, especially those who didn’t have the means or loved ones to spend the day.

Dianne is survived by her loving husband Fred, her dog Apple, her son Cullen Christopher Nay (Charissa), sisters Linda Sturm Sharp and Mary Louise Sturm Motichek, along with an abundance of nieces, nephews, and friends who will miss her dearly but will keep her in their hearts forever.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Hilda Sturm; her cherished son, Erik Preston Nay; sisters, Hilda Sturm Kinchen, Roberta (Birdie) Sturm Meiners, June Sturm Otzenberger, Anna Joyce (Joy) Sturm Legendre, Dale Sturm Badeaux, Barbara (Boots) Sturm Martinez, and sister in law Aleata J. Holland.

If you knew Mrs. Dianne, you knew she didn’t like a fuss to be made of her.

In accordance with her wishes, no funeral or memorial service will be held at this time.
