Dennis Marvin Welch Sr.

Dennis Welch Sr., a long-time resident of Covington, Louisiana, passed away peacefully at the age of 74 in St. Tammany Parish Hospital on July 24th, 2023. He was surrounded by his loving family, including his children - Dennis Welch Jr, Keith, Stephanie, Jennifer, and Darren Welch - their spouses Melissa and Jennifer H., and his cherished grandchildren Hope, Megan, Kadin, Dustin, Beaux, and Sadie Welch.

Dennis was born in 1949 to the late Terry Welch Sr and Dorothy Welch. Raised in Metairie, he moved to Covington in 1966, seeking work opportunities and ultimately discovered his passion for masonry. It was a craft he would take great pride in and continue to enjoy up until his last days.

Living life to its fullest, Dennis was a familiar and friendly face in the community. He loved spending time with his friends and family, whether it was engaging in lively chats, attending car shows, or watching football and WWE matches. He was also an ardent outdoorsman who appreciated hunting and fishing. He typically spent his weekends off boating, Catching fish, and making memories with loved ones.

Dennis' unwavering zest for life, dedication to his craft, and love for his family will be deeply missed but forever remembered. His impact on the Covington community and the hearts of those who had the privilege to know him will live on.

Dennis Welch Sr. is survived by his cherished siblings - Terry Welch Jr (Married to Annemae), Richard Welch Sr, Michael Welch Sr (married to Joann), Zoeann Welch, Joann Welch, Cheryl Welch (Married to Randy), Judy Welch, Ronald Welch Sr, and Randy Welch Sr (married to Lisa). His absence will also be profoundly felt by his devoted uncles, aunts, nieces nephews and cousins.

All those who knew and loved Dennis will continue to honor his enduring legacy, cherishing his memory in their hearts. He now runs free in eternal bliss, rejoining his parents, sister, and brother (Diane Duke and Frederick Welch) in the realm beyond our sight. The precious memories he created will continue to resonate, offering comfort, guidance, and solace to those he loved.

May his soul rest in peace, forever free and forever loved.  A Celebration of life will follow at a later date.
