Dennis James Miller

Dennis James Miller, lovingly known as “Mil,” passed away peacefully on February 6, 2026, in Bush, Louisiana. Born on January 23, 1951, in Covington, Louisiana, Dennis lived a life defined by strength, resilience, and devotion to those he loved.

Dennis was a steady and dependable presence—strong in spirit, selfless in heart, and tireless in his work. He believed in showing love through action, whether by providing for his family, lending a helping hand, or simply being there when someone needed him most. His hardworking nature and unwavering determination were matched only by the deep love he carried for his wife, Marion.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Marion Sanchez Miller; his son, Fernand W. Sanchez III (Carla); and his cherished grandchildren, Fernand Sanchez IV and Dillon T. Sanchez. He is also lovingly remembered by his mother Peggy Prats Hammond and brother Steven Hammond (Kat),along with many extended family members and friends whose lives were touched by his kindness and strength. 

Preceded in death by siblings, Carlos Miller Jr. (June), Joey Monier, Diane Montgomery (Paul), Those who knew Dennis will remember a man who stood firm through life’s challenges, loved deeply without needing recognition, and  gave endlessly of himself. His quiet strength, steady presence, and generous heart leave a lasting legacy in the family he treasured.

A Celebration of Life will be held on March 21 at 12 p.m. at his home 80468 Elliot Rd, in Bush, Louisiana. Though he is no longer with us in body, Dennis’s love, guidance, and example will live on in the hearts of all who knew him. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
