David Michael Weber

June 21, 1950 — August 2, 2025

Mandeville, Louisiana

David Michael Weber peacefully passed away on August 2, 2025, at Heritage Manor Nursing Home in Mandeville, Louisiana, after a lengthy illness. He was born in Morenci, Arizona, on June 21, 1950. The son of a career military officer, he moved with his family eighteen times before the age of eighteen to nine states and Germany.

In 1968 he graduated from high school in Roswell, New Mexico, at New Mexico Military Institute, where he was an awarded competition diver. After graduation he attended Louisiana Tech University in Ruston. He joined the United States Army in 1970 and was stationed at the Army Hospital in Denver, Colorado, and the 2nd General Hospital in Stuttgart, Germany, where he used his mechanical skills to keep medical machinery running. Additionally, he played drums in a rock band that performed at Officers’ and NCOs’ clubs, and other venues all over Germany. He was honorably discharged in 1973.

His career included manufacturing jobs in Louisiana, Mississippi, and South Carolina before settling in Maryville, Tennessee, where he worked for Alcoa as an electrical technical specialist. His highly skilled job required several trips to Germany to learn state-of-the-art computer skills compatible with manufacturing. During his time at Alcoa, he returned to college at Tusculum University, earning a Master of Arts degree in Organizational Management in 1997. He retired from Alcoa in 2007.

David loved boats and entertaining on or near water. He had a home on the bayou in Warsaw Marina, off of Lake Maurepas, when he worked in Hammond, Louisiana. When he moved to Tennessee, he owned a house on Fort Loudon Lake near Knoxville. It was there that a little Corgi named Dip Dog adopted David and became his best friend for many years to come.

At his last home, in a Maryville subdivision, David gazed off his deck at the mountains in the distance and visualized a pool in his back yard. Soon after moving in, he had a 20’ x 40’ in-ground pool installed. He enjoyed many years of happy times on that deck and in that pool.

He loved cruises, Caribbean vacations, and the beach in Florida. He also enjoyed Alpine skiing, fishing, and was a huge fan of the Chicago Cubs, traveling to Wrigley Field several times for their games. Playing slot machines at the casinos in coastal Mississippi was another good time to David.

He moved back to Louisiana in 2017 for health concerns, to be closer to his loving sister.

David was preceded in death by his parents, Col. Louis Weber and Tommye Meek Weber. He is survived by his sister, Dianne Andry (Forman) and Louisiana cousins Jackie Grasso and Paula Grasso.
