Darrell Ray Birchett

Darrell Ray Birchett, a devoted family man and retired General Motors employee, passed away on June 8, 2025, in Ponchatoula, Louisiana. He was born on July 30, 1935, in Mount Vernon, Missouri.

Darrell’s life was filled with love for his family, whom he cherished dearly. He is survived by his daughters, Ivy Pullis, Alyce Wingett and her husband James, Dara Mercier and her husband Patrick, and Kelly Ariza; his son, Eric Birchett; his brother, Ronnie Mobbs; and 13 grandchildren, along with numerous great-grandchildren.

Darrell’s life was marked by his interests in gardening and spending quality time with his loved ones. He found joy in caring for his garden and making memories with his family.

He is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Georgia Birchett, along with his father, Cletus Birchett, his mother, Nora Goswick, his son-in-law, Michael Pullis, his siblings Joann Lavigne, Burley Dean Mobbs, Douglas Birchett, and Marsha Kay, and two grandchildren, Scott Birchett and Hunter Bice.

Darrell’s warm spirit and loving nature will be deeply missed by those who knew and loved him.
