Daisy Beard

August 4, 1929 — November 6, 2014

Daisy Brumfield Beard went to be with her Lord on Thursday, November 6, 2014.  Mrs. Beard died peacefully at her home in Covington at the age of 85.

Born on Sunday, August 4, 1929 in Salem, Walthall County, Mississippi, Mrs. Beard was the daughter of Edith Pigott and Milton Kemp.  Her biological father was Sam Brumfield.

She married Harold Beard on Saturday, October 19, 1946 in Madisonville, St. Tammany Parish, Louisiana.  He preceded her in death on Friday, December 14, 2007.  Together they had three children, Christopher Harold, Brenda Sue and Karen Lynn.

Mrs. Beard is survived by her children; son-in-law, Tommy Morse; four grandchildren, TJ. Morse (Amanda), Stacy Morse Neal (Bert), Ashley Mingledorff Groppe (Sean), and Christopher Mingledorff.  She is also survived by five great grandchildren, Micah and Amelia Morse, Christian, Caroline and Olivia Neal; as well as three sisters, Polly Brumfield Livingston, Madren Kemp Seybold, Shannon Kemp Midkiff (Wm. Earl); one brother, Milton Sherwood Kemp (Ruby); and one sister-in-law, Mae Beard Foreman (Jonas Abbie).

Mrs. Beard was a member of First Baptist Church of Mandeville at the time of her death.  Mrs. Beard was retired from Sears in New Orleans.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Memorial Service at First Baptist Church of Mandeville, 1895 Highway 190, Mandeville, LA 70448 on Saturday, November 8, 2014 at 10:00 am followed by a reception in the church fellowship hall.

A private family interment will be held at Spence Cemetery in Salem, Mississippi on Friday, November 7, 2014 at 2:00 pm.
