Cynthia Cole Marsh, 67, of Cape Girardeau, Missouri, peacefully passed away, Thursday, January 7,2021, at the Lutheran Home; she ended her long struggle with cancer a burden now lifted by Our Lord. She was born May 24, 1953, in New Orleans, Louisiana to Howard Cole and Phyllis(Weckerling)Cole, a Cajun-German Family. After High School she graduated with a Registered Nursing degree from Charity Hospital in 1974.
She and Dr. Thomas Marsh were married in 1976 becoming a military mom for over 20 years. Settling in Cape Girardeau she returned to clinical nursing at Landmark Hospital and Chateau Girardeau advocating LPNs to transition to becoming Registered Nurses. Well known for intricate and delicate craft skills with gingerbread houses and sugar eggs many of which are cherished items brought out every season; even awarded First Prizes at County Fairs. Retiring from nursing in 2014. Survivors include her mother, Phyllis Baracco of Franklinton, LA; husband, Dr. Thomas Marsh of Cape Girardeau; two sons, Skyler Marsh of Peoria, IL, Spencer Marsh of Thibodaux, LA: two daughters, Jennifer Cohen of Lafayette, LA, Katherine Marsh of Lafayette, LA; three sisters, Cathy Hughes of Harahan, LA, Jane Dalton of Hammond, LA and Darlene Cole of Metairie, LA; grandson, Louie Cohen. She was preceded in death by her father, Howard Cole.
A visitation will be held Monday, January 11, 2021 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Ford and Sons Mt. Auburn Funeral Home. A second visitation will be Wednesday, January 13, 2021 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Bagnell and Son Funeral Home in Covington, LA.
