Obituary

It is with deep sorrow we announce the passing of Carl at the age of 64 while surrounded by the love of his family. He was a strong, caring, and hardworking man whose steady presence and character left a lasting impact on everyone who knew him.

Carl was known for his steadfast nature and his willingness to always show up for others. He took great pride in his work and in providing for his family, living his life with determination and resilience. Beyond his work ethic, Carl had a creative spirit and natural curiosity. He enjoyed learning new skills and was a talented handyman and artist who could build or fix just about anything. If he didn’t know how to do something, he would take the time to figure it out.

Above all, Carl truly loved his family and friends. He expressed that love in both big and small ways through his support, his presence, and the time he spent with those closest to him. He also enjoyed life’s simple pleasures, especially relaxing with a good movie, television show, or especially the New Orleans Saints, often with a bowl of popcorn or ice cream in hand.

Carl is survived by his brothers Steve (Nancy), Kevin (Cindy), Darrell, Dwain (Bobette), and Brian (Amy); his sister Juanita (Dave); sister-in-law Sandy; children Holli (David), Neela, and Wiley (Elisabeth); grandchildren Landon, Taggart (Sarah), Jacqui (Nick), and Hannah; great-grandchildren and many cousins, nieces, and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents Carlos Howard and Jean Patterson; brother Roger.

He will be remembered for his strength, his kindness, his creativity, and his unwavering dedication to his family. His legacy lives on in the values he instilled and the memories that will be cherished forever.

Carl will be deeply missed and forever remembered by those who loved him.

Celebration of life to be held at later date and announced via Facebook.
