Bruce Anthony Callaway, aged 61, passed away peacefully in the loving arms of his wife of twenty nine years. December 31, 2025, surrounded by the love of his wife and cherish step daughter.
Originally from New Orleans and a long-time resident of Hammond, Louisiana, Bruce truly embodied the values of service and dedication. He was a proud alumni of Hammond High School and Southeastern Louisiana University (SLU), where he excelled academically, earning multiple degrees and consistently achieving a spot on the Dean's List. Bruce served as a radiology technician in the U.S. Army during Desert Storm and continued to flourish in the field of radiology. He was respected for his kindness, generosity, and unwavering work ethic. Famously known as "The Jukebox Man" for his love of music, he brought joy to everyone around him.
He had a deep passion for travel and treasured the moments shared with family, finding joy in the simplest times spent together. He will be lovingly remembered as a devoted husband, father, and grandfather, whose kindness and warmth profoundly touched the lives of all who were fortunate enough to know him.
Bruce is survived by his devoted wife, Debra Meyers Callaway; his children from a previous marriage, Ashley Smith (Mark) and Christopher Callaway; as well as his stepchildren, Marlaina Addison (Shawnee) and Sandra Perk (David). He will be lovingly remembered by his cherished grandchildren: Kiersten, Abigail, Judah Brian, Christopher, Angel, and Katelyn. In addition, he is survived by his mother, Cheryl Callaway, and his siblings, Angela Hill (Pete), Kelly McCahill, and Jeffrey Callaway, along with numerous nieces and nephews who held him dear. He was preceded in death by his son, Stephen Joseph Callaway his father, Wilson Anthony Callaway: and his grandparents, John and Louise Callaway, Junes Robichaux, and Violet Newman.
