Billye “Faye” Pierce Reynolds, age 91, beloved mother of Cindy Dutsch and Mike Reynolds, went to dwell with the Lord on March 5, 2022. She was born in Williamsburg, Mississippi on May 19, 1930 to Willie Mae Pierce and Samuel W. Pierce.
Faye graduated high school at the early age of 16 and attended the University of Southern Mississippi where she received her Bachelor of Science degree in Home Economics with a minor in Chemistry. While at the university, Faye was a member of the Delta Gamma Sorority and was voted Homecoming Queen by her peers. She also met her future husband, Henry H. “Hindu” Reynolds there and was married 68 wonderful years.
Faye loved the Lord and her church, Mt Salus Presbyterian Church in Clinton, Mississippi, where she was an active member for over 55 years. She taught Sunday school, Catechism and VBS for many years and also served on numerous church committees. Fay’s other enjoyments in life included playing bridge, cooking, gardening, and volunteering. For the past five years, she also enjoyed attending church services and Sunday school at New Zion Baptist Church.
People that knew Faye always described her as a true genteel southern lady. She was a dear friend to many, always made time for everyone who needed help, volunteering to deliver food for Meals on Wheels, decorating other people’s homes, and serving the Lord to name a few.
What was dear to Faye’s heart was her family. She was blessed with four grandchildren: Troy “Trey” (Rachel), Christy (Louis), David (Casey), Fallon (Robert); nine great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren. “Faye Faye” as she was known by her family will be dearly missed.
A Memorial Service will be held at New Zion Baptist Church in Covington, Louisiana on Friday, March 11, 2022. Public visitation will begin at 9:30 – 11:00 am and the service will follow. A private Interment will be held on March 12, 2022 in Jackson, Mississippi.
