Betty (BeBe) Weaver Dozier

With heavy hearts and deep love, we announce the passing of our beloved mother and grandmother, Betty (BeBe) Weaver Dozier, on September 6, 2026 in Covington, Louisiana with her loving daughters by her side. While our hearts are broken, we are comforted by our faith and the years of treasured memories.

Betty was born April 2, 1945, in Dunn, North Carolina to Elijah E. Weaver and Hazel Mitchell Weaver. She graduated high school in Buies Creek, North Carolina and went on to attend Campbell College until moving with her young family to Jackson, Mississippi. When her daughters were older she went back to school and earned a B.A. in accounting from Belhaven College. As a CPA, she successfully worked her way up to partner in the Jackson firm and along the way she created many lasting and cherished friendships.

She will be remembered for her intelligence, warmth, and sense of humor. BeBe was funny, sharp, and delightfully sassy with a spirit that lit up a room. Her quick wit made her unforgettable. She was accomplished in her career but it was family and friends that brought the most joy and meaning to her life. Above all else, she was a loving mother and grandmother. She loved sharing her favorite movies, books, and music with those closest to her. She was devoted to her canine companions Miss Daisy and Bella. Bebe enjoyed traveling and her favorite vacation was a trip to the beach with her daughters and grandchildren.

Betty was a strong and fiercly independent woman who held firm in her opinions and was deeply patriotic.

BeBe’s faith was an important part of who she was and we find solace in believing she is now at peace with Granny and The Bear and that we will all be together again.

Betty is survived by her daughters Sherry Hope Dozier Saux and Sheila Ann Dozier; her cherished grandchildren Em Saux, Claire Saux, and Isabella Saux Wale and husband, Derrek; and great grandchild Elliott Elizabeth Saux; her brother Stanley E. Weaver and wife, Jackie; along with beloved nieces, nephews, and cousins.

The family would like to acknowledge and express deep gratitude for her care-giver turned devoted and treasured friend, Elizabeth Spicer. There are no words to express what she means to our family. Her presence brought BeBe daily joy and provided her with a sense of safety and comfort that we will always cherish.

We also wish to thank the staff, nurses, and aides at Forest Manor Nursing and Rehabilitation Center for the compassionate care and kindness you showed BeBe.

A celebration of life with good food, drinks, and excellent company will be held at The Seiler, 434 N Columbia Street, Covington, LA on Saturday November 7, 2026 at 1:00.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions in the memory of Betty Weaver Dozier be made to The Northshore Humane Society at northshorehumane.org to honor her love for dogs, cats, and other animal friends
