Ashley Elizabeth Finger, a vibrant spirit whose laughter echoed in the hearts of many, was born on August 16, 1988, in Chula Vista, California. She left this world on June 18, 2025, in Mandeville, Louisiana, leaving behind a legacy of compassion and joy that touched everyone fortunate enough to know her.
Ashley, an esteemed alumna of San Diego State University, carried forth the lessons she learned into all areas of her life, embodying resilience and warmth. Her fierce love for adventure was evident in her many hobbies: from hiking breathtaking trails to traveling to new destinations, reading the latest novels, and indulging in her favorite reality TV shows. Music played a great role in her life, particularly gangster rap with an affection for Kevin Gates. Forever a child at heart, Ashley had a special fondness for The Grinch and Ariel from The Little Mermaid, reflecting her spirited and playful nature.
Though Ashley faced an arduous eight-month journey battling triple negative breast cancer, she remained a beacon of light, wearing her beautiful smile and unwavering optimism like armor. She courageously navigated her struggles, refusing to be defined by her illness. Ashley chose to celebrate life through her accomplishments, nurturing deep connections with family and friends while creating unforgettable memories along the way. Her strength, humor, and the sparkle that she brought to every encounter created an indelible impact on every soul she encountered.
She is survived by her loving spouse, Louis Finger of Mandeville, LA; her devoted father, Dave Burgess of Lake Stevens, WA; her caring step-mother, Veronica Burgess of Lake Stevens, WA; her mother, Katherine Burgess of Mandeville, LA; and her wonderful siblings: Nick Burgess of San Diego, CA; Aidan Burgess of Lake Stevens, WA; and Cassie Burgess of Mandeville, LA. Ashley will also be deeply missed by her beloved fur babies, Roscoe, Blue, and Rosie, who shared in her love and warmth.
While the world may feel a little dimmer without Ashley's vibrant energy, her spirit will continue to shine brightly in the hearts of those who loved her. She will forever be cherished, remembered, and celebrated for the remarkable person she was—a true warrior who inspired us all with her resilience and unwavering zest for life.
