Arverzinda Broussard, a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend passed away on June 27, 2025, in Covington, Louisiana. Born on March 17, 1954, in McComb, Mississippi, she graced the lives of many with her warmth, creativity, and love.
Arverzinda filled her days with vibrant colors as she cherished her time in her personal art studio at home, where her passion for painting blossomed. A natural artist, she expressed her soul through every brushstroke, captivating friends and family alike with the beauty of her creations. Her artistic spirit extended beyond her canvases; she found joy in the simple pleasures of life, especially in the company of her loved ones. Spending quality time with family was one of her greatest treasures, and those moments were often punctuated by delightful shopping trips with her great-grandchildren, where laughter and love were evident.
She leaves behind a loving family who will forever carry her memory in their hearts. Her daughter, Felicia D. Smith, and son-in-law, Gregory, Sr., of Slidell, Louisiana. Her son, Edward P. DeMoll, Jr., and daughter-in-law, Stephanie, of Oakland, Tennessee. Arverzinda was also blessed with six grandchildren: Dennis Cucinello, Matthew Smith, Gregory Smith, Jr., Ty Penney, Connor DeMoll, and Ryan DeMoll, who each brought her immense pride and joy. Additionally, she adored her seven great-grandchildren, Brennan, Reese, Dylan, Dallas, Emilia, Chevelle, and Alexander, who lit up her world and became her little miracles as well as her siblings; Brenda Sanders, Beverly Fuque and Joyce Unsworth.
Arverzinda is preceded in death by her father, E.M. Rayborn of McComb, Mississippi, her mother, Betty Rayborn of Ponchatoula, Louisiana, and her brother, William Dwight Rayborn. Their memories will forever be etched in her family's minds and hearts, as they find comfort in the legacy of love and creativity she has left behind.
Her journey may have come to an end, but the vibrant spirit of Arverzinda Broussard will continue to inspire and uplift all those who had the privilege to know her. She will be dearly missed, yet fondly remembered for her artistry, her nurturing heart, and the irreplaceable role she held within her family.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, July 12, 2025, at 1511 Oakwood Dr., Slidell, LA.
