Anthony Joseph Flaspoller

BOGALUSA, LA — Anthony Joseph “Ace” Flaspoller Jr. passed away on January 26, 2026, at the age of 79.

A man of profound duty, Ace dedicated thirty years to the U.S. Air Force, including four years of active duty during the Vietnam War and twenty-six years in the Air Force Reserve. Following his initial time in uniform, he earned his master’s degree in criminology from the University of New Orleans and served for a short time with the New Orleans Police Department. During his subsequent years in the Air Force Reserve, Ace built a long career with Walmart, where he eventually retired. 

Ace was the beloved son of the late Anthony Joseph “Flash” Flaspoller Sr. and Genevieve Cross Flaspoller. He was also preceded in death by his son, Anthony Joseph “Lil Ace” Flaspoller III; his brother, Jerry J. “Pops” Ureta; and his fiancé, Janice Lowrey. He is survived by his son; three grandchildren; his sister, Marylou Shubert and her husband, Ross; and his sister-in-law, Joan Ureta.
