It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of Amy Lynn McElreath, age 39, of Waggaman, LA, who chose to be called home on May 22, 2026.

Amy was a true fighter, spending the last five years bravely battling for her kids. While our hearts are broken, and her tired body could no longer hold on, we find peace knowing she is finally free—no more pain, no more treatments, and no more surgeries—only perfect peace.

Amy was a bright presence in the lives of those who knew her, leaving behind memories that will be cherished by her family, friends, and the community she called home.

She leaves behind her two beloved boys, Isaiah Antoine McKenzie and Eli Anthony McKenzie; her loving dad, Robert McElreath; stepmother Hope Hanks-McElreath; her dear sister, Nijha Adams; stepsister Destiny Zamora; nephews, Feron Joseph Carter Jr. and Princeton Zayden McGee; and niece Z’mari Malaysia-Michelle McGee. She is also survived by a close-knit circle of aunts, uncles, and cousins, as well as extended family members and friends who held a special place in her heart.

Amy is preceded in death by her beautiful mother, Melissa Michel, and her cherished grandparents, Carolyn and Johnny Michel, and Thelma and John McElreath. The family finds comfort in knowing they are reunited once again.

In accordance with her wishes, there will be no formal service, as she requested to be cremated. Thank you all for your love, prayers, and support during this difficult time. Rest in peace, Amy. You will be missed deeply. ♥️
