Alton Eugene Martin

Alton Eugene Martin, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away at home on July 28, 2025, surrounded by his family. He was born on February 4, 1946. Alton had an extensive and diverse career. He was a former radio announcer and retired as a state police officer. He also served as an employee of the Louisiana State Lottery and North Oaks Hospital.

Alton is survived by his loving wife, Chantille Spivey Martin, his children Melissa Martin, Christopher Martin, Amanda Martin Wilson (Clayton), and stepson Ryan Landeche, as well as Rusty Dorsa. Alton was a proud grandfather to his grandchildren Corey, Chyna, RJ, Reece, and Addison, as well as a great-grandfather to five great-grandchildren. He is also remembered by a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his siblings Mattie-Lee Martin Lumino, Shelby Martin, George Martin, and Murphy Martin, Jr., as well as his parents, Dorothy and Murphy Martin, Sr.

Alton will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
