Allen Howard Deitz, born on December 11, 1948, in Troy, New York, passed away on May 29, 2025, in New Orleans, Louisiana. He was a proud veteran of the United States Army, having served as a Communications Specialist during the Vietnam War for six years.

Allen was deeply involved in the pool community, being a member of both the French Quarter Pool League and the APA Pool League. He became an icon within this community, known for his passion for the game and the many friendships he built along the way.

He is survived by his sisters, Linda Bentley and Darel Cramer, both from Rensselaer, NY.

A memorial service will be held on July 19, 2025, at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church & International Shrine of St. Jude, 411 N Rampart, New Orleans, LA 70112, beginning at 2:00 PM. There will be a reception to follow at 2:45 PM at Fahys Irish Pub, 540 Burgundy St., New Orleans, LA 70112.

Allen's burial will take place with Military Honors at Southeast Louisiana Veterans Cemetery in Slidell on July 21, 2025, at 12:30 PM.
