Alice Nora (Benton) Galvin passed away Saturday, August 27, 2022 at 98 years of age. The daughter of Patrick and Della Benton (Deceased), Alice was a native of Chicago Illinois. Of her siblings she is survived by her sister Joan Marzano of Fishers, Indiana. Of her siblings she is preceded in death by her sisters Marion, Lorraine, Margaret, and Patricia. Likewise, she is preceded by her brother Jack. Alice and her husband John William Galvin (Deceased) are survived by 4 children, daughter Mary Anne Galvin Eshleman (Ben) of Mandeville, LA and sons Terence J. (Susan) of Cincinnati, Ohio; Kevin R. (Joan) of Plymouth, Michigan and John M. (Elaine) of Chatham, New Jersey. Alice is also survived by 9 grandchildren, Alesa Coletta (Daniel), Rebecca Weller (Michael), Brian Galvin (Lindsey), Sean Galvin (Rebecca), Meghan Tuzzalino (Phillip), Elizabeth Galvin, Christopher Galvin, Kaitlin Bazile (Blake) and Kevin Darrah. Furthermore, Alice is survived by 9 great grandchildren;  Leo, Terence and Callie Coletta; Rosemary and Jacob Weller; Clara Galvin; William Ryan and Nathan Galvin.

Alice was loved and admired by all who knew her. Her deep faith was a constant in her life. Having been raised in Chicago, then living in New Jersey, England, returning to Illinois, and finally in Louisiana, she enjoyed both the people she met and all her experiences along the way. Her many interests included travel, reading, bridge, rummikub and watching football on autumn weekends. She especially enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She will be greatly missed.

A Funeral Mass and a Memorial Service (Celebration of Life) will be held with family members at dates to be determined. A private interment is to be held at St. Joseph Abbey Cemetery.

Alice’s Family wishes to thank the staff of Christwood Retirement Community and Notre Dame Hospice for the wonderful care they provided.
