Albert Joseph Faunce, 82, of Covington, Louisiana, passed away on August 27, 2026.

Albert proudly served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War, where he was wounded in combat and awarded the Purple Heart. Following his military service, he worked as a machinist at Avondale Shipyard. A loving brother, uncle, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, he was affectionately known as “Paw Paw Al” to his grandchildren and great grandchildren and "Uncle Tinker" to his siblings, nieces, nephews.

Albert spent much of his childhood in Aruba, a place he loved throughout his life and often spoke about with fond memories. As a little boy, he was rarely without his Tinkertoys, prompting his family to affectionately nickname him “Tinker.” The name stuck, and to his nieces and nephews, he would always be “Uncle Tinker.” He loved the beaches of Aruba, the island’s dogs and cats, and the iguanas that could be found all around him.

Throughout his life, Albert enjoyed gardening, cooking, carpentry, MUFON, and spending time with his grandchildren. His humor, many interests, stories, and love for life were all part of what made him so special to those who knew him as Paw Paw Al and Uncle Tinker.

Albert was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Jaqueline Hamburg-Faunce; his parents, Sidney and Annie Faunce; and his siblings, Sidney Faunce, Richard Faunce, and Marjorie Faunce.

He is survived by his sister, Patricia Faunce Dolbear; his children, Jeffrey Lindelow, Larry Lindelow, and Craig Lindelow; his grandchildren, Paige Lindelow, Jordan Lindelow, Emily Lindelow, Megan Lindelow, Katie Dickens, Rachel Schulingkamp, Blake Lindelow, Christy Kendrick, and Ashley McCarrick; twelve great-grandchildren; and fourteen nieces and nephews.

Albert will be remembered for his happiness, playful spirit, goofy sense of humor, and the love and laughter he brought to those around him. Paw Paw Al will be deeply missed and forever loved.

Albert will be laid to rest with military honors at the Southeast Louisiana Veterans Cemetery in Slidell, Louisiana. A private committal service and family gathering will be held in his honor.
