Abel Hunter Powell

Abel Hunter Powell, a beacon of joy and inspiration, left this world too soon on August 27, 2025, in New Orleans, Louisiana, after a brief but impactful journey that began on January 2, 2015, in Metairie, Louisiana.

Abel was cherished deeply by his loving family and friends, whose lives were forever touched by his remarkable spirit. He radiated a unique strength and an infectious joy, reminding everyone around him that laughter truly makes everything better. His smiles and giggles were a source of light that brightened even the darkest days, and anyone fortunate enough to know him could not help but be uplifted by his presence.

He is survived by his devoted mother, Lacey Hartmann, and his caring stepfather, Shane Rhodes. Abel was also a beloved sibling to India Rhodes, Madilyn Rhodes, Dylan Rhodes, Asher Powell, Azekial Powell, and Luca Rhodes. Together, they shared countless moments of laughter, adventure, and camaraderie that will be cherished forever.

Abel is preceded in death by his father, Andrew Powell. 

Abel's memory will live on in the hearts of those who loved him dearly, particularly as they carry forward the lessons he taught them about the importance of finding joy in every moment. Though his time with us was brief, his legacy of love and laughter will resonate for all who were fortunate enough to call him family or friend.
