Shirley "Jeanne" Cook

June 16, 1951 — April 25, 2018

Shirley "Jeanne" Williamson Cook, 66, passed away on April 25, 2018.  Predeceased by her husband Rodney A Cook and her parents Marge and Mitch Williamson, she is survived by her Grandson Gabriel Piano, her two daughters Maya Cook and Margot Cook (Xavier Cabo), her sisters Natalie Fleming, Pat Williamson, and Paula Williamson (Don Koehler), her cousins Brent Williamson and Dorian Bonama (Joey), and by her besties Carrie, Jeffrey, and Kenny. Jeanne graduated from Kennedy High School in 1969.  She had degrees in Anthropology and Early Childhood Education.   She was a teacher at Hammond Eastside in Hammond. Jeanne was a beautiful sweet soul who loved children, dogs, music, art and history. The girl could dance.  She was an avid reader who loved B-rated sci-fi movies with vampire and quirky paranormal themes.  But mostly she loved her friends and family unconditionally.  She was a true friend, sister, mother, and wife. She was loved by all who knew her. A celebration of her life will be held on Sunday June 24th from 2 to 4 pm at DBA at 618 Frenchmen Street.  In lieu of flowers, bring love, dancing shoes, instruments, or vittles.  A cash bar will be available.  AND DON'T FORGET TO TIP THE BAND AND THE BARTENDER.
