James Harold Abbott an avid fisherman passed away at the age of 77 on Thursday, November 7, 2019, surrounded by his family.  Mr. Abbott is preceded in death by his parents, Early Raymond Abbott and Geraldine Kincaide Abbott, his sisters Betty Hayes and Mary Nalls and his brother Stanley Ray Abbott.  He was born in Greenville, Texas and graduated from Greenville Texas High School.  James joined the United States Army and served in the Korean War at the rank of Sargent as Tank Commander.   Mr. Abbott was also a Journeyman Ironworker and retired as Jobsite Superintendent. He was a member to The International Brotherhood of Ironworkers Local 84 Houston, Texas. James loved the outdoors and his true passion was his love for his family, especially his grandchildren.  He is survived by his daughter Jeri English, his sons; Gregg Abbott, Chris Abbott, Joshua Abbott, and Jeremiah Abbott. James also leaves behind eleven grandchildren, three great grandchildren,  and his sisters Dorothy Craig and Barbara O’ Pry. A Celebration of life will be held at a later date.
