Helen Tull

May 9, 1921 — November 6, 2018

Helen Bailey Tull went home to be with the Lord on November 6,2018. She was preceded in death by her husband Howard “Bay” Tull in 2008 and her parents, Clyde and Ruth Hunt Bailey and sister Frances Sarrett. Helen was born in Boaz, Al May 9, 1921 and lived for several years in Smyrna, GA. She finished high school at Albertville, Al in 1938 and business college in Knoxville, TN. She worked for 3 years for TVA and joined the Navy WAVES during World War II. After training at Hunter College and IBM in New York she was stationed at the 8th Navel Supply Depot in Algiers, LA. She and Bay met after the war at 1st Baptist in New Orleans, LA. and were married at 1st Baptist Church in Albertville, Al on December 1, 1946. They were married for 62 years.  Helen is survived by her four children and spouses Howard Bailey and Brenda, of Baton Rouge, LA, Nelson Porter and Suzie, of McKinney, TX, Frances Maurine Diket and Chris, of Mandeville, LA, and Samuel Lawrence and Barra, of Scottsdale, AZ. She is also survived by 11 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren with 2 more on the way, and 1 great great-granddaughter, a brother Don Bailey and wife Carole, of Cleveland, TN. Helen spent her adult life serving her family and her church. For several years she was very successful selling Tupperware and World Book encyclopedias and taught Pre-K at Oak Park Baptist Church and Kindergarten at Aurora Gardens Academy in Algiers. She was truly a Proverbs 31 woman. She will be interred at Port Hudson National Cemetery in Zachary, LA., with a family Graveside Service.
