George Henry Horstmann, III, passed away at his home in Folsom, Louisiana, on November 15, 2019, at the age of 77. Henry, as he was known by his family and friends, spent his childhood in Kennett, Missouri, before settling in Louisiana during his high school years. In adulthood, he transformed his love for horses into a successful career as a thoroughbred racehorse trainer. A skilled carpenter, Henry later went on to assemble luxury yacht interiors in New Orleans before retiring. When not cheering on his favorite team (Go Tigers!), he could be found spending his days at his home, gardening, woodworking, playing fantasy football, spending time with his sweet granddaughters (who will forever remember their Pops) and taking care of his beloved dog, Ouisa. Whether he was cracking a joke or lending a hand, Henry had a way of making people smile. He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Colleen Cassidy Horstmann, his daughters Kimberly (Wyatt) Stevens, Nicole Lynn Horstmann, Shaylene (Kyle) Matthews, and his son George Henry Horstmann, IV; his granddaughters Katie, Gracie, Ella, Riley, and Cate; his brothers Roy (Ume) Maggio, and Rene Horstmann. He is preceded in death by his sisters Carolyn Jean Horstmann and Lisa Horstmann; his parents George Henry (Lisa) Horstmann, Jr. and Beryl Chailland Horstmann.
