Carol McCormick

Carol Cuevas McCormick, age 71, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family & friends and went to her heavenly paradise after a 12 year battle with kidney disease on October 14 2018.   Born January 5, 1947 in New Orleans to the late Randolph V. Cuevas and Hazel P. Cuevas, granddaughter of the late Loren & Lena Portie.  She was a proud graduate of Chalmette High School, the wonderful class of 1965. Beloved wife and soulmate of 52 years to Hugh W. McCormick Sr.  Devoted, Loving mother of Heike Lind (Harold), Tanya McCormick (Mona Fincher Treadaway), Hugh W. McCormick Jr. (Amanda).  Loving grandmother of Clayton Lind, Caleb Lind, Veronica McCormick, Carolyn McCormick, and Henry McCormick.  Proceeded in death by Electra (Deta) Meeks and Rita Talbot.  Also survived by her sister, niece, nephew, Aunt, cousins, many family & friends.  She was known to many for her talent as a seamstress.  She loved to entertain for any occasion; however, her true passion in life was her family.  She was an active member of the Lacombe United Methodist Church & UMC ladies where she helped organize many fundraisers and events. The family would like to extend their sincere thanks to the staff of the St. Tammany Parish Hospital & Hospice of St. Tammany Parish Hospital. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend a memorial celebration from 1:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m.  on Saturday October 20, 2018 at Lacombe United Methodist Church 27577 St. Joseph St.  Lacombe, LA. 70445. Services will be officiated by Rev. Mary Rasch. In lieu of flowers the family asks for donations in her name to: Lacombe U.M.C.  P.O. Box 2029 Lacombe, LA. 70458.
