Anna Smith

Anna Margaret Carrington Smith, 93, of Folsom, passed away with family by her side in Mansfield Methodist Hospital in Texas on Wednesday March 21, 2018. She was born on September 12, 1924 in New Orleans, Louisiana to the late Leon Carrington Sr. & Genevieve Feely Carrington. She was predeceased by her loving husband, Joseph T. Smith Sr.

She worked in the credit department of Grant’s for many years. She was a loving person with a huge heart and had a passion for taking care of her horses. Anna and Joseph had two children Joseph T. Smith Jr. (husband of the late Dorothy Smith) companion Joycelynn and her late daughter Judith Mendow (wife of the late Warren Mendow). She is also survived by her eight grandchildren Bridgette Fairburn, Dale Boudreaux, Wendy Melancon (wife of Jay Melancon), Kevin Boudreaux (husband of Shannon Boudreaux), Joey Smith (husband of Jan Smith), Eva Bowers (wife of Curtis Bowers), Anna (wife of Steve), and Troy Smith (husband of Helen Smith). She is also survived by 19 great grandchildren and 5 great great grandchildren. She is also survived by all of her loving nieces and nephews. She is also proceeded in death by her brothers Leon Carrington Jr., James Carrington, Thomas Carrington, Roger Carrington, Cleveland Carrington; sisters Ella Mae Rufin, Genevieve Cole, and Betty Trosclair. Anna always enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. She was loved by everyone who knew her and will be greatly missed. The family would like to invite relatives and friends to attend a visitation on Tuesday, March 27, 2018 from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm at Bagnell Funeral Home located at 75212 Lee Rd Covington, LA 70435. The Funeral  Service will begin at 1:00 pm. Interment will follow at Barker’s Corner Cemetery.
